I'm looking to upgrade from my current Intel i5 10500 setup with 16GB of RAM. I'm wondering if investing in an i7 10700 will make a significant difference for photo and video editing tasks. Is it worth the money?

I wouldn’t bother with such an old platform. You're not going to see a noticeable performance increase at all. It might be better to save up for something newer!
Honestly, it's a lot of cash for not a huge performance boost. You might not notice much of a difference in your editing tasks.
Have you considered upgrading your GPU instead? For photo and video editing, the CPU and RAM are important, but a good GPU can make a difference too!
I think selling your current CPU, motherboard, and RAM as a set could help fund a newer setup entirely. That way, you can invest in a more modern platform instead!

Not really, I thought the CPU was the main focus for my editing needs.
