Is Upgrading My PC Setup Worth It?

I'm thinking about upgrading my current PC setup, which includes an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, ASRock B450 Steel Legend motherboard, an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT GPU, and 16GB of RAM. I just bought another 32GB of RAM, and I'm looking to get an AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT processor, an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II motherboard, and an ASRock Challenger Arc B580 12GB GDDR6 graphics card. I want to know if these upgrades are worth the investment for the best performance.

If you go for the Ryzen 5000 series, just make sure to update your motherboard's BIOS to the latest version. The B450 can support it! However, consider the Ryzen 7 5700X, which would be quite sufficient. And if you're looking for a GPU, any of the RX-7000 series with 12GB VRAM would be a solid choice over Intel.

I'm working with a budget of around $800. I was looking at a new motherboard mainly for extra M.2 slots. Although I want to upgrade to the next gen, DDR5 prices are really high at the moment.

Your current motherboard is fine for now. Upgrading to a better GPU instead would likely help you more, especially the RX 9060XT.

What games are you mainly playing, and what's your resolution? The RX 9060XT, or even a used 5700/5800, should do the trick for 1080p gaming, I believe.

Right now, I primarily play WoW. I had a bit of extra cash and was thinking about boosting my performance.

Honestly, I think you should keep your current B450 motherboard. The PCIE gen 4 isn’t really worth spending the extra cash on. You could save that money and invest in a faster GPU instead, like the RX 9060 XT with 16GB. Also, how much is the 5800XT where you live? You might find that the Ryzen 5 5600 performs just as well for cheaper in most games.
