I'm considering upgrading my 2019 gaming rig, which has an RTX 2070 and a Ryzen 5 2600X. Here's what I'm looking at for the new build:
- **GPU**: RTX 3080Ti (already have)
- **CPU**: Ryzen 7 7800x3d - £338
- **AIO Cooler**: TRYX Panorama SE 360 - £240 (planning to find a cheaper deal)
- **Case**: Lian Li O11 Vision Compact - £116
- **Fans**: Jungle Leopard Interstellar V2 x8 - £70-75
- **Motherboard**: ASUS Tuf Gaming B650-E - £140
- **PSU**: Lian Li Edge Gold 850W - £95
- **RAM**: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB - £390
- **SSD**: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB x2 (already have)
So, the total cost for the new parts (excluding the GPU and SSDs) comes to around £1394. Given the current RAM prices, do you think this upgrade is a good idea?

You can save a lot by opting for a cheaper CPU cooler. A thermalright air cooler for about $35 could handle the 7800x3d just fine, potentially saving you over £200. This might help mitigate the impact of those high RAM prices!
What's your current setup? The 7800X3D is great for gaming, but you might be happy with a cheaper option like the 5800X, which would fit your existing motherboard and save you some cash without needing a full new build.

I'm using an MSI x470 Gaming Plus Max motherboard with a Ryzen 5 2600X, RTX 2070, plus 32GB DDR4 3600MHz and some older cooling and fans.
