Hey everyone! I'm currently using a 3060 paired with a 5800x processor, and I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card. I've found a 5070 for $500 and a 5070 Ti for $750 at my local microcenter. I'm leaning towards the 5070 mainly because I want to transition to AM5, and that extra $250 could help with the skyrocketing RAM costs. I usually game at 1440p and don't need max settings, so I'm not too concerned about the VRAM difference. Do you think the additional cost for the 5070 Ti is justified? By the way, I'm planning to pair whichever card I choose with a 7800x3d.

I’d suggest checking out the 9070 or 9070XT as alternatives. They’re around the same price as the 5070 and offer better performance. If you can, think about holding onto your 5800X for a bit longer too. It’s still a good CPU, and you might save some money while prices stabilize.
If you're planning on gaming at 1440p, the 5070 should do just fine for you! It’ll serve your needs well without breaking the bank.
The 5070 Ti could provide better performance, especially if you consider playing at higher resolutions in the future. Just weigh if that $250 difference fits into your budget.
The 5070 is a solid upgrade from a 3060, especially at $500. If you’re okay with not maxing all settings, it sounds like a great choice. I say go for it!
Thank you for the encouragement!

Totally agree! The 9070s perform well compared to the 5070 and give you more VRAM.
