I'm considering an upgrade for my PC build. Right now, I have an Intel i5-12400 CPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and an RX 6700XT GPU. I'm thinking about switching to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D while keeping the same GPU and upgrading to 32GB of DDR5 RAM. My concern is whether my RX 6700XT will bottleneck the new processor.

What kind of games are you into? Also, what's your monitor's refresh rate? Knowing that can help gauge if the RX 6700XT will be a bottleneck for your setup. As for me, I ran a 6700XT with a 7800X3D for a while, and while the GPU held it back somewhat, it still performed well. Don’t be surprised if you need to lower some graphic settings for smoother gameplay, though!
If you're set on upgrading to the 7800X3D for gaming, then yes, the RX 6700XT might hold you back a bit. A better strategy might be to consider a different CPU, like the Intel 14600KF, and maybe save up for a better GPU next time.
Good point! With how the prices are going for DDR5, the 14600KF might be the smarter move, especially since you plan to keep your GPU a bit longer.
It sounds like a solid plan! Just a heads-up, be sure to check the motherboard compatibility because some brands had issues leading to failures with the 7800X3D. Also, DDR5 prices are pretty high right now; I saw 32GB going for £405 the other day, so consider your budget.

I've just started playing Escape from Tarkov and some titles like Rust and Diablo 4 on a 144Hz monitor. I'd love to maintain good frame rates!
