Hey everyone! I'm just starting out with Linux and wanted to get some feedback on Zorin OS. I've heard great things, especially its Zorin Connect feature, which really caught my eye. If Zorin isn't the best option, what alternatives do you recommend? Also, how can I achieve similar functionality like Zorin Connect on other distributions? Thanks!

I personally love Zorin! The developers really pay attention to detail and the community around it is super welcoming. I've set up Zorin on computers at my local museum, and the users—many of whom are used to Windows—find it easy to navigate. If you do want to explore other options, Linux Mint is highly recommended for its stability and user-friendliness, too! I've been using it for years and it works beautifully for everyday tasks.
Zorin is definitely a great starter distro! It's designed with newcomers in mind. Interestingly, Zorin Connect, which you like, is similar to KDE Connect that's available on any distro using KDE or GNOME desktop environments. Zorin uses a modified GNOME desktop, so you'll have a smooth experience. If you're looking for alternatives, you might want to check out Linux Mint, Fedora, or even CachyOS if you're considering an Arch-based option. Just dive in, learn as you go, and remember to back up your stuff regularly!
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely try Mint once I'm comfortable with Linux.
