I recently bought a gaming PC from Evounic, but I'm having trouble connecting it to my old Acer monitor, which only has a VGA port. Since my new PC doesn't support VGA, I got a VGA to HDMI converter. I plugged it into the HDMI port on the graphics card, not the motherboard, but I can't seem to get it to work. Is my old monitor too outdated, or could there be another issue?

It's great that you're trying to connect your old monitor! First, make sure the monitor is actually powered on and connected to a power source. It must be receiving power for it to display anything. Also, double-check that your gaming PC is sending out a signal; try connecting it to the motherboard’s HDMI as a test. If both connections don’t show anything, the problem might be with the adapter itself. Even an old monitor should work; just give these steps a shot!
It sounds like you’ve done a lot right, but sometimes those converters can be tricky. Since you mentioned the monitor displays "cable not connected" when you unplug it, that indicates it's detecting something. The black screen could mean it's not receiving a proper signal. You might want to see if you can borrow another monitor or try a different VGA to HDMI converter to rule out equipment issues.
