Issues Uploading iPhone Screenshots to ChatGPT

I've been having trouble with ChatGPT not recognizing the screen format of iPhone screenshots. Is there anything I can do about this? It seems like a lot of other users, including myself, are facing upload errors, specifically getting messages about unsupported file types when trying to upload screenshots. I'd love to know if there are any workarounds or solutions out there.

I've noticed this too! It looks like normal camera photos upload just fine, but screenshots that contain lots of text or are from certain apps (like news sites or SNS posts) are getting blocked. It seems there might be some kind of recognition system in place to filter out those screenshots based on their content, rather than just the file format. Have you tried uploading just regular images or simpler screenshots? That seems to work in my tests!

Exactly! I had issues with screenshots that were full of text, but just regular photos go through without a hitch.

I think you might need to be a bit selective with what you try to upload. For instance, casual screenshots from Google Image searches work fine, but anything heavy on the UI or filled with lots of text seems to trigger these errors. It's really frustrating! Maybe adapt your screenshots to be simpler?

Yes, I noticed that too! Even some screenshots of my own posts get rejected sometimes.

What specifics do you mean by not recognizing? I’ve got an iPhone and haven’t had that many problems other than the occasional upload error. Maybe share more details about what types of screenshots you’re trying to upload?
