Issues with Linux Mint on USB Drive

I just set up my first Linux distribution, Mint, on a USB drive. However, I'm running into performance issues. The OS is super slow to respond, and the browser keeps crashing. I'm also having trouble with the network. Can anyone help identify what might be causing these problems?

What browser are you using with Mint? If it's Firefox, it could be consuming too many resources on the pendrive setup, contributing to the crashes. Sometimes, using lightweight alternatives can help with performance.

Yeah, I'm on Firefox.

First off, is your USB drive a 2.0 or 3.0? It makes a big difference! If you're using a USB 3.0 drive, make sure it's connected to a USB 3.0 port for better speed. Running an OS off a USB drive isn't ideal unless it's an SSD, so that could be the issue.

Oh, I see where I messed up now!

Did you install Mint directly onto the pendrive, or are you just using it as a live USB? If you flashed it and are just live booting, performance might not be great. If you installed it onto the pendrive, it should work better, but keep in mind it might still be slow compared to a full installation on a hard drive.

I'm definitely using it as a live USB.
