I'm having trouble with my Intel DQ67OW motherboard after trying to upgrade from an i3-2100 to an i5-2400. I'm not getting any display or system response at all. I've made sure to clean the CPU and motherboard pins, and I've updated the BIOS, even testing with an older version. The new CPU gets warm but not too hot, and I've reset both the BIOS and MEBX several times. The system works perfectly with the old i3 processor. Interestingly, I removed the RAM to check for a beep code—my old processor did respond, but the new i5 didn't. I do have another motherboard that supports the i5-2400, but I can't test it right now because I'm out of town. Could this be a sign that the i5 is dead?

I agree, it might be a processor failure. It sucks if you just bought it and can't return it. Maybe check if the seller can provide confirmation of it working prior to your purchase? At least that way, you have some leverage! Also, if you have any spare parts lying around, testing with those could help pinpoint the issue.
It sounds like your processor might be dead, especially if it’s not responding like the i3. That CPU is pretty old too, so it’s possible it didn't survive the previous setup. But I really hope for your sake that it's a simple fix! Have you double-checked the CPU power connections? Sometimes that can trip you up too.
