I'm seeking a user-friendly Linux distribution to run on my laptop with an old NVIDIA 720M graphics card (driver 390) and Optimus support. I've previously used Endeavour, but I'm looking for something simpler since I don't have the time to manage Arch. Ideally, I'd love a distribution that's so easy my father could use it too, preferably with KDE support. What distros would fit this need? Should I just stick with an older version of Kubuntu?

Have you thought about using Debian? It’s got good support for older hardware. Plus, it's pretty stable and user-friendly for beginners! If your NVIDIA card is really proving to be an issue, you might also consider disabling the GPU altogether since it might not be doing you a ton of good anyway.
