It would be great if it includes basic info like a pet's name and a photo, as I want to use it for a personal project. So far, I've only found Petfinder, but it seems like they aren't issuing keys anymore or have made changes to their API. If you know of any alternatives or where I might find such APIs, I'd really appreciate your help!

Finding free APIs for pet adoption is definitely tricky nowadays, especially since many are shifting to paid models. One option could be to learn web scraping; it might take a bit more effort, but you could collect the data you need for your project that way!
