Looking for a Good Monitor After Switching from PlayStation to PC

After 15 years of using PlayStation, I've recently made the switch to PC gaming! I used to play on TVs, but the one I bought seven years ago just isn't cutting it anymore—it's a 34" 1080p monitor running at 60Hz, and the display quality has really gone downhill. I need a new monitor that's between 27" and 32" with a resolution of 1440p, and I want to keep it under $200. Since I'm not into competitive gaming, refresh rates aren't my main concern. Any recommendations?

For your needs, I'd recommend the Pixio PX277 Prime. It's a solid choice for a 1440p monitor. If it's pushing your budget too much, you might want to consider the Asrock PG27QFT1B or the curved Asrock PG27QRT2A. The Pixio will give you the best overall experience, but the Asrock options are decent alternatives too. Just keep in mind the contrast and motion clarity differences between VA and IPS screens.

Honestly, even if 60Hz isn't a dealbreaker for you, you should definitely aim for at least 144Hz. It makes a noticeable difference in smoothness! Let me know if you need more help finding one!

Thanks for that advice! I’ll keep it in mind as I search.

Have you thought about checking out Facebook Marketplace? You can find some great second-hand deals that could save you a lot of money—maybe you could use those savings to upgrade other parts of your setup too!

I already built my PC and set everything up! I’m not looking to upgrade anytime soon since I’m not planning to run anything too demanding. But thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check it out.

Even if you're not into competitive games, I’d suggest trying to get at least a 120Hz monitor. The difference is amazing! You could have enjoyed that on your PS5 too. For example, you could check out this Acer Nitro 27" curved monitor—it’s under $200 and has great specs.
