Hey everyone! Currently, I have an RTX 3060 paired with a Ryzen 5 5600X. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to either a 5070 or possibly a 5070ti. However, I've heard that my current CPU might bottleneck the 5070, and since I'm not a fan of stuttering, I'm considering upgrading my CPU too. I initially thought of going for a Ryzen 7 9700X, but I can't find a compatible motherboard that supports this GPU and DDR4 RAM. I already have 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, and with the current prices, I don't want to shell out 500 euros for new RAM. I found the Gigabyte B760M which could work with an i7-14700, but I've heard Intel has had a bad reputation lately, especially regarding overheating issues. I'd prefer to stick with AMD since they seem to perform better in gaming. This is my first time upgrading beyond just adding an SSD or RAM, so I'm pretty nervous about the whole process and would appreciate any advice!

You might want to consider the Ryzen 5700X3D or 5800X3D, and maybe look for them used if the prices are right. Upgrading both your CPU and motherboard while sticking to DDR4 might not give you the best bang for your buck. Also, the 9700X won't be compatible since it only works with DDR5.
The 14600K is now one of the best DDR4 gaming CPUs available and reasonably priced. However, if you're switching from a 5600X to a 14600K, the performance increase isn’t huge—about 20% faster, but you're looking at 300+ $/EUR for the upgrade. In most games, the 5600X should still pair decently with the 5070 or 5070ti at 1440p, so unless you're really into CPU-heavy games, you might just consider getting the new GPU and enjoy it at higher settings!
At 1080p, bottlenecking might be more noticeable with a high-end GPU like the 5070ti paired with the 5600X, especially in demanding games. But if you're mostly gaming at lower settings, you should be alright—just keep an eye on your performance and adjust accordingly!
Honestly, you could keep the 5600X for a couple more years. It’s still a solid CPU, and waiting a bit longer could save you money until the next generation of parts comes out!

How does that change at 1080p? I know the 5070ti might be overkill, but I want it to last as long as possible. Would it still work fine without major stutters? I really dislike lag and I’m trying to figure out how bottlenecks work.
