I'm new to Linux and have previously tried Linux Mint, but it felt a bit too restrictive for what I expected from a Windows-like experience. I'm searching for a Linux distribution that's easy to set up and compatible with my Asus ROG GL551JW, as I had some audio issues with Mint. I'd like a distro that can seamlessly handle my Steam games, so any recommendations for a user-friendly option that still has a Windows-like appearance would be appreciated!

You might want to give Zorin OS (Core) a try! It's designed to be very user-friendly and looks a lot like Windows, which could make your transition smoother.
Have you considered CachyOS? It might meet your needs as well!
While I get wanting a Windows-like experience, I recommend keeping an open mind. Many of the habits from Windows won't translate to Linux very well. Also, most Steam games run fine on various distros, so you should have plenty of options! You can actually check out ProtonDB; it lists over 20,000 games that are playable.
Definitely keeping that in mind! I did have some audio weirdness with Linux Mint, so I'm considering trying out different versions on a virtual machine.

Thanks for the suggestion! I appreciate the quick response and will check it out.
