Looking for Advice on Building a PC for Basic Use

Hey folks! I'm looking to build a new PC, specifically around the AM5 platform. I'd like to use the Lian Li A3 case for this setup. My main activities will be regular tasks such as browsing the web, watching movies, and using Photoshop for personal photo editing. Gaming isn't part of the plan for me.

I'm considering the AMD Ryzen 5 7500F processor, but I've heard it doesn't have a built-in GPU. Should I go for a CPU with integrated graphics instead? If I stick with the 7500F, I'm planning to pair it with the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler, an FSP Hydro K Pro G5 850W PSU, a Kingston KC3000 500GB M.2 SSD for the system, and Kingston FURY Beast 32GB RAM. I'll also add a second-hand Sapphire RX6600 GPU.

Will this configuration fit in the Lian Li A3 case?

I have a Ryzen 5 7500F paired with an RX 6600, and honestly, it's more than enough for basic tasks. If you want some suggestions, maybe try the Ryzen 5 8600G with a B650M motherboard. You'll enjoy smooth playback for even 4K videos!

Thanks for that! Will the B650M fit in my Lian Li A3 case?

Honestly, if you're not into gaming, a mini PC might be a better fit for you. It could handle everything you need without the bulky setup. Just a thought, check out some mini options that fit your budget!

I'm open to any suggestions! I saw some mini PCs around 800 EUR, but I want to make sure my configuration fits what I want.

For your use case, I’d recommend considering the Ryzen 5 7600 or even an Intel 15th gen processor. Those would cover your editing and casual use well. Also, pcpartpicker.com is a great site to check your parts for compatibility!

Would changing the motherboard and processor be necessary? I've heard that AMD tends to run cooler than Intel.

You'll need a dedicated GPU with the 7500F since it doesn’t have an iGPU. Getting a CPU with integrated graphics would definitely simplify your setup for everyday tasks. Intel options might be worth checking out as well!

I appreciate it! Any specific Intel models you recommend?
