Looking for Advice on Building My First Gaming PC

I'm a first-time builder trying to put together a gaming PC, but I have limited knowledge and time, being a father. My ex-wife had a computer I used for gaming, mostly playing titles like Battlefield 6, Tekken 8, and Marvel Rivals. I want to build something that can handle these games comfortably. I have a budget of around $3,000 for the PC itself, but I also need to get a monitor, mouse, and keyboard, which will come from a separate budget. There's a Micro Center nearby, which seems helpful, but I'd appreciate any guidance to ensure I'm on the right track before heading there. Thanks for your help!

Micro Center has some well-priced pre-built options if you want something plug-and-play. I’d recommend checking out either the PowerSpec G729 or G730. They pack a punch and should handle your games well without breaking the bank. If you're leaning toward building, consider this setup using a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and a Radeon 9070 XT; it leaves you enough budget for a solid 1440p OLED monitor and peripherals after taxes.

You’re in good hands at Micro Center! I'd suggest watching some videos from Linus Tech Tips to get a grasp on what's currently available. After that, bring your list to Micro Center for their input. They often have combo deals that can help you save.

If you're looking for value, check out this build on Micro Center for just $2,200. It includes a 1440p monitor and can run any game on high settings without any hiccups!

$3,000 is pretty generous! You could get a powerful rig that runs games in 4K without issues. But if you're budget-conscious, consider going for a less expensive GPU like the 9070 XT or the 5070 Ti; it won’t break your performance for the price. Just make sure you get at least 32GB of RAM as games and Windows can take up a ton of space.

If you're not confident in building, definitely consider letting Micro Center put it together for you! They’re great with helping find a pre-built that fits your needs and budget. They’ll make sure everything is compatible.
