Looking for Advice on Upgrading My PC and Buying Used

Hey everyone! I'm in need of some guidance before I jump in on a used PC that could really help me upgrade my current setup and also give my wife a second PC. I just got a Radeon 9070XT to replace my old 3070FE, but I've noticed my Ryzen 5600X isn't quite keeping up with it—my CPU is maxed while the GPU sits around 80% usage. I typically play games like ARC Raiders, COD, and Minecraft, so I'm not too concerned about heavy multitasking or CPU-heavy games.

Here's what I currently have:
- CPU: Ryzen 5600X
- Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 duo (dual fan)
- GPU: Radeon 9070XT
- RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Ballistix DDR4 3600 CL16
- MOBO: X570
- PSU: Corsair RM750
- CASE: Cooler Master
- Storage: 2 NVME M.2 SSDs

The build I'm looking at costs $1400 and includes:
- CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D
- Cooler: Noctua with 2 140mm fans
- GPU: 3080 Ti
- RAM: 64GB (4x16GB) G.SKILL DDR4-3200
- MOBO: X570
- PSU: Seasonic PX-750 (80+ Gold)
- CASE: Lian Li Dynamic EVO with Mesh kit
- Storage: 2 M.2 drives and 1 SATA drive

My plan is to swap my 5600X for the 5800X3D and take two sticks of RAM from the new PC for mine, giving me 32GB of RAM and a better CPU while leaving my wife with a good setup that has the 5600X, 32GB RAM, and a 3080 Ti.

However, I'm worried that my Arctic Freezer cooler might not be enough for the new 5800X3D. If that's the case, I might just get an AIO cooler; plus, I'm not a fan of how the Noctua coolers look.

I feel like this could lead to two awesome PCs for us, plus I'd sell my old 3070 FE and 16GB RAM. Am I missing anything here? Is this a bad move? Should I consider getting a new 5800XT or another AM4 chip instead and stick with my current setup? I'm open to any and all feedback. Thanks so much!

$1400 sounds pretty steep for that build, especially in the US. I just picked up a prebuilt rig for $1500 that had a 9800X3D, a 5070, 2TB SSD, and 32GB RAM, which I thought was a better value.

I hear you! I think that price is largely due to the 64GB of RAM. I’ll try to negotiate a lower price since it seems a bit high. Plus, the 3080 is still good, even if it’s getting older. I noticed that the 5800X3D is hard to find, too, which might pump up the price as well.

Definitely worth trying to talk him down! Where did you find that prebuilt?

If you're aiming for two good PCs, this plan could work out, but if you're just looking to upgrade one, you might want to grab a 5800X3D directly. Also, for cooling, consider getting a Peerless cooler—super affordable and works well!

Yeah, I’ve been on the hunt for a 5800X3D too, but those prices are a bit steep. How did you manage to snag yours?
