Hey everyone! I just discovered that Bitnami is now going to cost me a whopping $72,000 a year, and that's just not feasible for me. I'm really looking for your recommendations for more affordable alternatives. I've also heard mixed things about Chainguard, so insights on that front would be appreciated too!

I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ve had a great experience with Echo. It’s not only more secure, but also cheaper, in my opinion. Definitely worth checking out!
Is that echohq.com I should check out?
Honestly, for $72k a year, why not fork the current build to a GitHub repo? You could set up a weekly build action there and keep it running for basically nothing. Plus, doing empty commits will help you avoid GitHub's 90-day action limit.
What to do with that $72k then?!?
But please don’t do that; their images are really not well done.
We ended up switching to official repositories, which has worked out well for us. Just make sure you’re considering what you specifically need from Bitnami’s services.
Honestly, this whole situation is stirring up a lot of drama. A simple CI step could solve most issues, and their Dockerfiles will still be available publicly.
Could you share that simple step? I've been struggling with Harbor.
The Dockerfiles might be public, but the key COMPONENTS could be behind a paywall, making it hard to replicate builds long-term.

Any clue what’s Chainguard charging these days?

"Affordable" isn't exactly how I'd describe it at $10k per image.
