I'm planning to move my PC to the next room to keep my workspace cooler during summer. While it's winter now, I want to explore my options ahead of time. I need to connect two ultra-wide monitors (one running at 144Hz and the other at 100Hz), along with my keyboard, mouse, speakers, microphone, and other USB devices. Currently, I use two separate USB hubs, but I'm concerned about potential bottlenecks if I consolidate everything into one USB dock.
I know I could run long individual cables, like two DisplayPort cables and a USB 3.2x2, but I want to avoid the clutter of multiple chunky cables due to aesthetic reasons. I think Thunderbolt or USB4 is the way to go, but finding an affordable AM5 motherboard that supports these standards has been challenging. I'm open to ATX boards since they are more likely to have USB4, but they usually come in tower cases, and I need something that can fit in a 32cm tall shelf. Ideally, I'd like a MATX motherboard with an SFF case, but those seem to be scarce. ITX won't work because my network card needs a PCIe slot. Any suggestions?

Consider the X870 motherboard; it supports USB4 and can handle dual 4K monitors. It's a solid option, but I think it might only come in ATX size, so you'll have to lay it on its side unless you find a MATX version.

True, it seems tough to find it in MATX, but if space is tight, thatmight still be a viable solution!
