I'm a fan of PyCharm but really can't stand VSCode or any AI editors like Cursor. Since I lack the commercial license for my current project, I'm in search of alternative IDEs or editors that are suitable for professional use.

You might also consider Neovim. It's quite flexible and a lot of developers love its performance. Sure, it has a steeper learning curve, but it can be really powerful once you get the hang of it!

Yeah, Neovim is great for customization! Just keep in mind that it might not have all the user-friendly features out of the box that PyCharm does.

I suggest looking into VSCodium if you're not a fan of traditional VSCode, but still want something that supports similar functionality without the AI features. It's open-source and may have a better feel for you!

Have you tried the Community Edition of PyCharm? It's completely free and has plenty of features. Also, if you're looking for something different, Zed might be worth checking out!
