Hey everyone! I'm looking for a sanity check on my new PC build since I haven't been up to date with hardware lately. My last system was a pre-built and I want to make sure I haven't overlooked anything. Here's what I've put together: a Ryzen 9 9950X with a Thermalright cooler, an ASRock motherboard, a hefty 128 GB of DDR5 RAM, and 14 TB of storage. I also have an RTX 5070 Ti for graphics and a fully modular power supply. I'm primarily using this for a little gaming but mostly for compute tasks. I'm curious if you see anything glaringly wrong or if there are better alternatives to my components. Any advice, especially on RAM configurations and cooling, would be super helpful! Thanks in advance!

You might want to consider switching to an ATX power supply instead of a SFF one since you're using an ATX case; they’re generally cheaper. Also, your CPU cooler already comes with thermal paste. Do you really need 128GB of RAM? You might get better performance with a 2x48GB kit instead. Lastly, if storage is a big priority, maybe look into using a dedicated NAS. It could save noise and space. And for case fans, 3 should be enough; adding more usually doesn't offer much benefit beyond looks.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely consider switching to the ATX power supply. And I’m not locked into the 128GB; just looking to have more headroom than my last system, which had 48GB. I appreciate your insights!
