I'm on the hunt for some good free or open source solutions to send and receive HL7 messages over MLLP. The commercial options out there are just too expensive, especially since they often come bundled with other tools that I don't really need. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

We use Mirth Connect for several of our HL7 feeds, and I can highly recommend it. It's really reliable!
There are a bunch of free open-source packages out there, but I found that many aren't quite ready for production or clinical use. Hopefully, things have improved since then. Good luck with your search!
Have you checked out Mirth Connect? It's a free application from NextGen and works really well for handling HL7 messages over MLLP. Definitely worth a look!
Mirth Connect is definitely ready for production! There’s some recent drama in the community since NextGen is moving towards closed-source, but the current versions are solid. Even if you explore alternatives like BridgeLink or the Open Interface Engine, you should be in good hands.
