Looking for GPU Upgrade Suggestions for 1440p Gaming on a Limited Budget

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some recommendations on upgrading my GPU as I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options available right now. I built my desktop back in 2022, holding onto my trusty GTX 1060 6GB that's been with me since 2016. It's served me well, but I recently switched to dual 1440p monitors, and I think it's finally time to upgrade.

Here's my current setup:
- EVGA 650 GA PSU
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-PLUS motherboard
- mATX case

I usually play strategy games, city builders, and some action RPGs, and while I don't need maxed settings or ray tracing, I'd love to crank settings higher than the low settings I've been using. I'd like to future-proof my build a bit too.

My initial budget was around $300, but I'm realizing that's likely too low, so I'm willing to go up to $500 if necessary. Any recommendations for a solid mid-tier GPU that will fit my needs? Thanks in advance!

If you're trying to stick around that $400 mark, maybe look into the used market for a 7800 XT. Just be aware that finding one at that price could be tricky since you're aiming for 1440p performance, which generally pushes prices up. But I think it might be worth considering the upgrade, especially at 1440p!

I appreciate that! I'm definitely open to adjusting my budget as needed, especially since gaming at 1440p has been a great experience for me. Would pushing to $500 open up better options?

You might want to check out the RX 7600 XT with 16GB or the RTX 5060 Ti also with 16GB. Both should give you a nice boost for 1440p gaming! Plus, they're pretty well-balanced for your Ryzen setup. Here’s a helpful GPU hierarchy list to consider.
