Looking for Lightweight Linux Distributions for a Chromebook VM

I'm using a Chromebook with ChromeOS version 142.0.7444.181 (64-bit) and I'm interested in running a lightweight Linux distribution on my virtual machine. Ideally, I want something that requires under 1GB of storage. The reason I'm looking into this is that I want to set up a virtual machine within that Linux environment to run TempleOS (and I'm open to any suggestions on that as well). Thanks in advance for your help!

Debian is also a solid choice. It's known for being lightweight and stable, plus it has a wide variety of packages available. If you find it light enough, you can do a lot with it

Alpine Linux is another great option! It's designed for minimal use and could fit your needs, although it might manage with just around 1GB of disk space. There are even smaller distros like Tiny Core, but they can be a bit tricky to set up for using VMs.

You should check out Bodhi Linux 7.0. It's lightweight and should work well in your setup.
