Looking for PC Building Advice – Where to Buy Parts?

Hey everyone! It's been ages since I built my own PC, and I'm finally ready to throw together a new setup from scratch. I'm looking to pass my old rig down to my nephew. My question is, where's the best place to buy PC parts these days? The only sites I'm familiar with are Amazon and Newegg. Is Newegg still reliable for purchasing parts, or has Amazon taken over that market?

Also, if you have any recommendations for motherboards, processors, graphics cards, etc., that would be super helpful! Most of my gaming is casual, but I do stream on Twitch occasionally.

It really depends on your budget, but both Amazon and Newegg can be great for finding parts. Newegg often has good deals, but I've found that Amazon can be more convenient sometimes, especially if you have Prime. Just check reviews and return policies before buying.
Also, what’s your budget for the build? That really helps narrow down recommendations!

Are you planning to include the cost of monitors in that budget? If not, you might want to consider a slightly higher-end build!

For a solid setup on a budget under 2k, I'd recommend looking into AMD Ryzen processors for great performance, especially if you're gaming and streaming. For graphics cards, something like the NVIDIA RTX 3060 is powerful enough for most games at good settings. As for motherboards, just make sure they're compatible with your processor choice!

Totally agree with the Ryzen recommendation! They handle multitasking really well, which is great for streaming while gaming.
