Hey everyone! I've been using my current PC for over eight years, and with the release of BF6, I'm feeling the urge to upgrade. Right now, I'm averaging around 50-60 FPS on low settings, which isn't cutting it for me. I'm aiming for a smooth 80 FPS at medium settings without breaking the bank too much.
Here are my specs:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core
- **Motherboard:** Gigabyte A320M-S2H-CF
- **GPU:** NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER (upgraded about 3-4 years ago)
- **RAM:** 32GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX DDR4
- **Storage:** Intel 660p Series M.2 512GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD and Crucial BX500 1TB SATA SSD
I'm thinking of starting with a CPU upgrade, maybe around a hundred bucks, but I'm also open to a good GPU if it makes sense. I just don't want to spend over $500 without getting a noticeable performance boost. If there's a good motherboard/GPU combo that would help, I'd love to hear about it! Any tips or advice would be super appreciated!

You’re right on time to snag an AM4 CPU since AMD is winding down production. Upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X could really boost your CPU performance, likely doubling your scores. This might just get you to that 80 FPS mark you're shooting for. It'll cost around $150, and don't forget to consider a better cooler if you're still on stock, like the Peerless Assassin. I'd tackle the CPU first before looking into GPU changes.
Looks like you’re on an AM4 only board, but if you could swing the Ryzen 7 5800X, that should get you some great performance boosts.
Is it worth it to spend an extra $50 for an AM5 upgrade? I’m double-checking compatibility with my board right now. Thanks for the insights!
