Hey everyone! My daughter just got a new PC and I'm looking for some advice on how to boost its storage and speed. Here are the specs: she's got an Asus Prime A620M-K motherboard, a Ryzen 5 7600x CPU, 2x8GB of 5200MHz RAM, a 1TB SSD, an RTX 5070 GPU, and an 800W PSU.
From what I understand, the motherboard only has room for one SSD. Should I get an HDD for extra storage? Also, she has plenty of USB 3.2 ports; do you think it's worth it to invest in an external SSD?
Additionally, would upgrading from 16GB to 32GB of RAM improve speed? She uses the PC for gaming on Steam, as well as FreeCAD and Gyroflow for drone video editing. I'd love to hear your suggestions on how to optimize its performance. Thanks!

You’re right about the M.2 slot being limited, but you can definitely use a 2.5" SATA SSD for more storage. Honestly, if you already have 5200MHz RAM, swapping for 6000MHz won't give you a noticeable boost for gaming or general use; save your cash.
For the RAM upgrade, going from 16GB to 32GB can make a difference, especially with resource-heavy tasks like video editing or running multiple applications. If she's mostly gaming and occasional editing, though, 16GB should suffice for now. If you run into performance issues, then consider the upgrade later.
Is going from 16GB to 32GB really a game changer? I want to make sure it’s worth the investment.
