Looking for Storage Recommendations for My PC Build

I'm getting back into researching for my PC build after a long break, and I realize I'm a bit lost when it comes to storage options. I know the basics, but there are just too many brands and types out there, and it's overwhelming right now. I'm aiming to keep the total cost under $1,000, and here's what I have so far: CPU: Ryzen 5 7600, GPU: Rx 7800xt, motherboard: B650M (probably with a Wi-Fi card), and RAM: 6000 CL30. Any advice on which storage options to go for?

For most desktop users, any NVMe drive that isn't QLC should work great. Just a quick search will tell you if a drive is QLC. Look for TLC drives as they're better for both performance and longevity.

Thank youu that actually helped a lot.

Sadly, storage prices have risen, although not to the extent of RAM. A few months back, I got a 4TB S70 from Adata XPG for $320 right before prices jumped, and I also found a 4TB 990 pro on eBay for $220. Look for verified sellers for open box deals to save some cash.

I found similar prices on eBay, but I think I'll decide based on the overall cost when I finalize the other parts. Thanks for the heads up!

Honestly, the parts you've listed are close to your $1,000 budget unless you buy used, and even that market isn't great right now since many are holding onto their systems. I'd suggest considering a 1TB SSD, even a slower SATA one can work well for game storage.

Yeah, I've noticed things have changed since I started looking into parts. The market here in Germany seems okay compared to the US, but I might need to make some compromises. Thanks for the tip!

Definitely aim for NVMe first. If the Gen5 drives are similarly priced to Gen4, go for Gen5. However, if Gen3 drives are much cheaper, and your primary use is gaming, Gen3 might be the smart choice. What's the pricing like in your area?

I've only taken a quick look, but it seems decent (I live in Germany). Gen3 prices are looking good, so I might go for one of those. Thanks!
