Hey everyone! I'm a software engineer excited to switch to Linux on my new PC, but I'm unsure which distro to choose. I'm looking for something that offers a customizable GUI (though that's not my biggest priority), solid software compatibility, and good support for video games. I've heard that some distros work better for gaming these days. I'd appreciate any recommendations, especially if you know of some lesser-known options! Thanks, and have a great day!

Stick with the big players! Mainstream distros like Ubuntu and Fedora have excellent support for both software and gaming. Plus, the desktop environments are customizable, so you can pick the look you like. Just avoid the niche distros unless you're ready to troubleshoot issues that come up.
Have you checked out Fedora? It looks great for devs!
