Hey everyone! I've been a dedicated Gnome user and I've been using Touchégg for gestures on my X11 setup. Unfortunately, since Gnome is phasing out X11 support in their upcoming versions, I'm on the hunt for alternatives to Touchégg that are fully compatible with Wayland. I've tried researching but haven't found any recommendations that really meet my needs yet. I'm also planning to use an LTS distribution with an older Gnome version for now, but I know I have to transition to Wayland eventually, and I'm sticking with Gnome as my desktop environment. If anyone has suggestions for gesture tools that work well with Wayland, I'd really appreciate your help!

Good news! Gnome's Wayland session has some built-in gestures that you can make use of. You might want to explore those before looking for additional tools.
For a more customized experience, I've been using libinput-gestures along with ydotool for a couple of years now. It works well on Wayland and is pretty flexible. You can check them out here: [libinput-gestures](https://github.com/bulletmark/libinput-gestures) and [ydotool](https://github.com/ReimuNotMoe/ydotool). It could be a great alternative for you!
You might want to check out wzmach; it could be exactly what you need! Here's the link: [wzmach on GitHub](https://github.com/maurges/wzmach). It has good compatibility with Wayland and might offer the gestures you're looking for.
