Looking for Web Development Project Ideas to Boost My Resume

I'm an Android developer with five years of experience, and I'm considering making the switch to web development because the mobile market has been tough lately. Over the past year, I've struggled to find a job in the mobile space, so I think it might be time for a change. I have skills in Java, JavaScript, React Native, and Kotlin, so I believe the transition could be manageable, though I know I'll need to learn some new things. I'm looking for suggestions on some standout projects I could create to help my resume catch the attention of recruiters. Any ideas?

Have you thought about building an app store for your mobile apps? It could demonstrate your ability to handle user uploads, ratings, and even payment systems if you want to get complex. Plus, this could also serve as a web-based portfolio for your mobile projects! That could definitely get the attention of recruiters.

You might want to consider adding some AI-related projects to your portfolio. AI is definitely a hot topic right now, and even simple applications can impress. For instance, you could create a chatbot or a data visualization tool that utilizes a public API. Just make sure to keep it practical and showcase what you can bring to the table.

I’ve got to say, the job market is rough right now for everyone. But in terms of project ideas, if you're already comfortable with Java, I’d recommend diving into Spring Boot and getting familiar with microservices. These tools are really valuable for full-stack development roles. You could build a small application that showcases your skills with microservices and maybe even add a database connection using Hibernate.
