Looking to Upgrade My CPU and Motherboard Without Breaking the Bank

I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 2600 on an MSI B450 motherboard paired with a 3060 Ti and 32GB of RAM. I'm looking to upgrade to a new motherboard that has more than one M.2 slot and want to get a newer CPU for better performance. With Forza Horizon 6 coming out soon, I'm concerned about whether my setup will run it well. I want to make sure I find a motherboard and CPU combo that fits my needs without spending too much. Any recommendations? Also, I'm still kinda new to all this, so I appreciate your help and any questions I might ask along the way!

You might not need a new motherboard at all! Instead, consider using an M.2 PCIe adapter, which is a budget-friendly solution that can give you extra slots. To give you the best advice, it would be helpful to know what your budget is. 'Not breaking the bank' can mean different things to different people.

This is solid advice! You could definitely consider upgrading to something like a Ryzen 5 5800X or you could go for a PCIe adapter that's around $20. That's a nice upgrade route without breaking the bank.

I hear you! I'm in the US too, and I'd suggest trying to keep your total upgrade costs around $300-$400 for that CPU and adapter combo.

Honestly, you really don't need a new motherboard. Your RAM and GPU are solid. If you're looking for more performance, the Ryzen 9 5950X is great, but it might stretch your budget a bit depending on prices right now. Think about that PCIe adapter as a great first step!
