Hey everyone! I'm looking to give my old PC a much-needed upgrade but I really don't know where to start. Here are my current specs: AMD Ryzen 5 3500X 6-Core 3.60 GHz, NVIDIA GTX 1660 Super, and 16GB RAM. I'm also unsure if I should stick with a 550 PSU or upgrade to a 600W. I do a lot of video editing, Photoshop, and gaming, so any help would be appreciated! Please keep it simple and list any suggested parts with their full names, as I'm not well-versed in PC terms. Just a heads-up: I'm in Egypt, and my budget isn't very high since I save up to buy each part individually. I don't need the best of the best, just something better than what I have now.

I think it would be really beneficial for you to upgrade to an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, especially for your workstation needs like video editing. It has a higher core count, which can significantly improve performance. Don't forget to budget for a good motherboard as well, something like a B550 would work nicely!
If you're thinking about future-proofing, for 4K gaming, consider going with an X570 motherboard and a Ryzen 9 5900X for power. You'll definitely want a more robust PSU, like 850W or even 1000W. RAM-wise, shoot for 32GB DDR4 at 3200MHz or higher, and for graphics, RTX 5070 TI or RX 7900 XT would be great choices! Just remember to check if the RAM specs can confuse you; MT/s can be different from MHz!
Thanks for all the details! I'll keep in mind about the RAM specs too!
Honestly, you might want to consider upgrading most of your components if you can. For 1080p gaming, a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with an RTX 4060 Ti should do wonders! Just also make sure you have a decent PSU, around 750W should keep you safe. And for RAM, try to go for 32GB at 3000MHz or more if you can swing it!
Wow, that sounds like a solid plan! Thanks for breaking it down for me!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely look into the Ryzen 9 and that motherboard.
