Hey everyone! I'm not super tech-savvy when it comes to PCs, and I'm really in need of some guidance. My current setup just isn't cutting it anymore, especially with newer games like Battlefield 6—it runs so poorly. Here are my specs:
- **CPU**: Intel Core i5-11600KF
- **GPU**: Nvidia RTX 2060 (6GB)
- **SSD**: 256GB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD
- **HDD**: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (2018)
- **RAM**: Corsair CM4X8GF2666Z16K4 2x8GB
- **Motherboard**: Gigabyte GA-Z590 UD AC
- **Power Supply**: Corsair TX650M (650W)
I'm mostly looking to upgrade my GPU—like maybe to an RTX 5070 or something similar—to achieve 1440p gaming. However, I'm concerned that my other components might bottleneck the GPU or that there could be compatibility issues. Any help, advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure your games aren’t running off the HDD, as that can really lag performance for newer titles. I recommend a 9060 XT and a larger M.2 SSD for better load times. Bottlenecking typically becomes an issue at lower resolutions, so switching to a newer platform would really help. The 9060 XT should still give you decent performance at 1440p on high settings, but go for a model with higher VRAM! 32GB of RAM is becoming pretty standard now!
Upgrading your GPU is definitely a good move! Also, consider bumping your RAM up to 16GB for better performance. Eventually, you might want to look into a better CPU, like an i7 or even an i9!
Yeah, I'm a bit concerned about the CPU since I don't know how to swap it out, but I really appreciate the advice!
Honestly, any strong 1440p GPU will face some bottleneck with your current CPU. If possible, it might be worth investing in a cheaper AM5 CPU along with a new motherboard and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. But if you're on a budget, getting the GPU first can still give you a noticeable boost!
Got it, upgrading most components seems inevitable anyway, but thanks for clarifying!

Thanks for the tip! I do run games off my HDD, which you pointed out, so I see now that upgrading my components is the best way forward. Thanks for all the great advice!
