Looking to Upgrade My PC on a Budget – Suggestions?

Hey all! I finally have some cash saved up and I'm ready to upgrade my PC for the first time in ages. My budget is $1,000 max, but I'd be happy with anything under that. Here are my current specs:

- Motherboard: Aorus b450m
- GPU: RX 590 8GB
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
- PSU: Corsair CX-M Series, CX650M, Modular Power Supply, 80 Plus Bronze
- RAM: 16GB at 2133MHz (It's rated for 3000MHz, but when I try to set it that way in the BIOS, my PC randomly shuts off. Maybe the RAM is just too old?)

I'm looking for the best ways to spend my money for maximum performance. I don't care about playing games on high settings, but I do want solid framerates and some future-proofing. I'm totally fine with low settings as long as I can keep enjoying games for years without needing to upgrade again.

Just a heads up, make sure your GPU is correctly labeled. There's no RTX 590 - that's probably a mistake and you meant RX 590. That card has 8GB of RAM, which is good!

For future-proofing, you might want to consider upgrading the whole system. A good option would be to get an AM5 motherboard along with a compatible RAM and CPU bundle. If you live near a Micro Center, they have deals that can really help out. Just remember not to skimp on your GPU budget! Maybe get a lower-end CPU like the 7700x and save more for a solid GPU like the RX 9070.

Isn't the motherboard crucial for performance? I thought it was just about compatibility with the parts.

If you can get your RAM to run at its full speed, I suggest considering the Ryzen 5 5700X3D along with the best GPU you can afford. That combo would give you a great boost in performance!
