Making the Switch to Linux: Questions About Pop!_OS and Gaming

Hey everyone! I'm officially transitioning to Linux after doing a lot of research since August. I've decided that Pop!_OS seems like the best distro for me since it's geared towards gaming and comes with the necessary drivers pre-installed. However, I have a few questions before I make the leap:
1. Should I wait for the upcoming update on the 11th or just download the stable version now and update later?
2. Pop!_OS uses GNOME as its desktop environment, but I'm more interested in KDE. Can I switch to KDE after I get accustomed to the distro?
3. Is Pop!_OS really the best option for someone who primarily games on their PC? I'm concerned about making sure everything works right out of the box since this will be my main daily driver.
I'm open to using the terminal for setups if needed, and just a heads-up, English isn't my first language—sorry for any mistakes!

Honestly, if gaming is your main focus, you might want to consider other options. Some users prefer Bazzite or Nobara for their gaming tweaks. Pop!_OS is good, but it might not be the best for everyone.

I've been hearing mixed things about Bazzite. Is it really better for gaming than Pop!?
