Monitor Loses Signal During Gameplay—What Could Be the Problem?

Hey everyone, I recently set up my gaming station in a new place, and I've run into a weird issue. While playing games, my monitor goes black and shows "Displayport No Signal". I have to hit the Windows key to minimize the game for the display to come back. This mainly happens during cutscenes. My concern is whether this is a GPU problem or something else, like the monitor or the cable. I can't check with another monitor right now, but I'm thinking about getting a new Displayport cable since the one I'm using might be old. I also noticed that this issue has started happening even when I'm not playing a game. Any suggestions on tests I can run to diagnose this?

Just a thought, sometimes things reset to default during a move. It’s possible your monitor is trying to display at a higher refresh rate than your PC can handle. Check your in-game settings to make sure it’s capped at what your monitor can run. I remember having issues when my GPU was set to run at 120 fps while my screen was capped at 60 hz; it led to similar problems.

First off, does this happen with all games, or just one in particular? If it’s only happening in a specific game, it might be related to the graphics settings. You could try adjusting the refresh rate or turning down some settings like shadows and reflections. Also, make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date. If the problem persists across different games, it might be time to replace that Displayport cable you mentioned.
