I woke up to find that my account was hacked around 4 AM, and I had a ton of notifications from ChatGPT saying 'your request is complete.' When I checked my chat history, I discovered that all the requests were in Chinese. I had ChatGPT translate them, and they were all boring homework questions related to economics, quantum mechanics, and lots of SAT/ACT-style questions. It seems like ChatGPT is banned in China, so having access is a big deal for students there. I changed my password, and fortunately, I don't have any sensitive information in my account. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I'm curious too, how did someone in China get your password? Probably some skilled hacker found a vulnerability or a past data breach involving your credentials. It's crazy how people find ways around these security measures.
Sounds like a classic case of reusing passwords! If you used the same password elsewhere, that might have led them to your account. Just a reminder to always use different passwords for different sites.
Wow, that's wild! I've never received any notifications from ChatGPT before; it usually says it can't send push notifications. It's kind of cool to think it might now! I guess it would be handy if it could send alerts for stuff other than just breaches.
It can actually give you in-app notifications! If you leave a chat while it's processing your request, it'll pop up once it's finished answering you.
