My Asus Vivobook Won’t Turn On—Any Suggestions?

Hey folks, my Asus Vivobook 16 (X1605V) suddenly shut off while I was watching YouTube, and now it won't turn back on. I've tried everything from hard resets to disconnecting the battery and cleaning the RAM, but no luck. The charging and power LEDs aren't lighting up, the screen is completely dark, and there's no fan activity at all. I did notice a faint high-pitched whine when it's plugged in, but it changes when I hit the power button and stops when I unplug it. I'm at a loss here! What could be going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Also, excuse any grammar issues, I'm still practicing my English!)

Some laptops need a functional internal battery to boot up. If yours isn’t holding a charge anymore, that could be the problem and you'd need a replacement.

I had this happen to me recently. First, check if the power indicator is on; if not, there might be a bigger issue. Have you tried using a different charger? Sometimes it's just a dead power supply causing the problem.

Unfortunately, no lights are showing on the power indicator or the charging LED.

If you're comfortable opening it up, try fully disconnecting the battery while the laptop is not plugged in. Put it back after a minute or two, then plug it in and see if it starts up.

Sounds like the power brick could be dead. If you have access to a 65W USB-C power charger, try using that to see if it powers on. If it does, your original charger might need replacing.
