I'm having a major issue with my computer not shutting down properly. I'm running Windows 11, and whenever I try to shut it down, the screen just turns off but the system keeps running. It takes an eternity to restart or even boot up to BIOS! I usually have to force it to shut down by unplugging it. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

It sounds like your PC might be stuck in a fast startup mode. Windows 10 and 11 tend to default to this setting, which helps it boot up faster but can cause shutdown problems. Try disabling it by going to Control Panel > Power Options, then click on 'Choose what the power buttons do'. From there, you'll want to uncheck 'Turn on fast startup (recommended)'. That might help!
Thanks for the tip! I disabled fast startup; let's see if that works.
Your hard drive could be the issue, especially if it's an old HDD that’s corrupted. But if you're using an SSD, that might not be the problem. Have you tried checking for any background processes that could be slowing things down? You could also look into a clean install of Windows if it keeps acting up.

Also, check the BIOS settings! Sometimes changing the power state settings can help too.
