I was trying to listen to something and plugged my headphones in, but they weren't working, so I pushed them in harder, thinking it would work like it usually does. Unfortunately, my computer shut off immediately after that. I'm worried I might have caused a short circuit or something. What can I do to safely fix this? I'm nervous about trying to turn it on again.

First, try disconnecting the power cable from the back of your power supply unit (PSU) for a few minutes. After that, plug it back in and see if the computer powers on. If it shuts down again, you might have a short circuit issue, so keep an eye on it.
