So, I've hit a bit of a snag with my computer. I left it on overnight to download something (which I usually don't do) and when I woke up, I noticed a faint burning smell. At first, I thought it was just the heavy construction outside, but a few hours later, my PC shut itself off completely. This isn't the first time – I live in an area with frequent power outages, so I didn't think much of it at first. But then when I tried to turn it back on, I heard a popping noise from inside and quickly unplugged everything. To make matters worse, I've had to replace the power supply three times in the last year and a half because they keep failing on me. The repair shop has never given me a solid answer for why this happens. Is my computer seriously cursed, or is it time to consider getting a new one?

It sounds like a capacitor might be on its way out. I highly recommend investing in a better quality power supply; don’t go for the cheap ones this time! They're crucial for your system's health.
Having that many power supplies fail in one PC is really concerning. Are you using a surge protector or just a cheap power strip? There could be something else inside causing the problems too, but that’s definitely a red flag.
Exactly! A power supply isn't something to skimp on. Op, check out a PSU tier list and try to avoid anything below C-tier!
