I'm really stuck with my computer right now and could use some advice. It all started when my system wouldn't boot up. After a lot of troubleshooting—reseating the RAM and CPU, trying a different power supply, and even running with minimal components—I decided to replace my old ASUS Prime B650 Plus Wifi motherboard with a new MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max Wifi. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the issue. It seemed like my CPU was dead, so I sent my AMD Ryzen 5 9600X for an RMA and it took a few days to get a new one, which was exciting! After installing the new CPU, it actually booted up into Windows, and I was really relieved. However, when I entered the BIOS and exited without saving any changes, it just went back to not posting, exhibiting the same issues like before with the original CPU. I'm now at a total loss for what to do. Any suggestions on what might be causing this? I'm feeling pretty frustrated after trying everything I can think of!

Try this: unplug the power cord from your supply and remove the battery from the motherboard to reset the BIOS settings. After a few minutes, pop the battery back in, plug it all in, and try booting up your PC again. It sounds like you did everything right, but maybe resetting the BIOS will do the trick. If it works, let it run for a while before fiddling with the BIOS again.
This was exactly my next suggestion. Definitely give this a shot!
Has it booted at all? Are you using a dedicated GPU?
Yes, it did boot once with the new CPU, straight into Windows. But it stopped posting after I exited the BIOS. And yes, I do have a GPU installed.
What's the second indicator light on the motherboard showing? Is it related to the RAM? Also, what color are the indicator lights? If you share that info, I can help figure it out.
It’s fixed now after resetting the CMOS! Before that, the lights showed red for the CPU and yellow for the RAM.

This worked for me too! I didn't think about resetting the CMOS, but it made all the difference. You're a lifesaver!
