My CPU is Overheating and Making Weird Noises—Need Help!

I've been dealing with a serious issue lately where my CPU temperature spikes to 100°C. I'm not super tech-savvy, but I thought repasting the thermal paste might help, and it did drop the temps to the 40s briefly. However, an hour later, they shot back up to 100°C again. I've already tried running Spybot Search and Destroy to check for malware, but it didn't find anything. I also checked the task manager and didn't notice anything unusual. I'm starting to think my CPU cooler might be malfunctioning. I opened my case, cleaned the fans, and took off the CPU radiator to clean it, but now there's a weird noise that sounds like a fan hitting something, even though everything looks clear. I even recorded the sound and took a screenshot of my HWMonitor results. Any advice would really help!

From what you've shared, it sounds like you're using a MasterLiquid ML120R RGB cooler. Just remember, if the fans aren't spinning, that could definitely be the problem!

Yeah, I noticed some won’t spin, but I’m not sure why that’s happening.

Have you checked your BIOS settings? Sometimes, Intel Turbo Boost can ramp things up too much. Try turning it off; it can help bring those temps down a bit.

Is your cooler an air cooler or a water cooler? That might affect the troubleshooting steps you need to take.

Also, keep an eye on the settings in BIOS. If you had 'OC Genie' enabled, that can cause higher temperatures. Disabling it helped me in the past! Let me know if you need help navigating the BIOS.

I disabled OC Genie and checked the fan settings, but I’m still having issues. Will keep trying!
