Yesterday, my youngest daughter accidentally spilled some Coke on her sister's MacBook Pro keyboard. We wiped it off quickly with a damp cloth, but now the keys in the spill area are sticky, causing multiple presses. I'm guessing the sugar is turning into a gooey mess. What's the best way to clean it myself? Should I consider taking it in for repairs or parts replacement? Just to clarify, I'm talking about the soda, not anything else!

Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to an Apple store or a repair shop. The sticky Coke could cause more damage over time, especially to the metal parts. They can disassemble it and clean it thoroughly to prevent any further issues. Trying to do it yourself might not fix the problem completely, and that could lead to more expensive repairs later on.
If you don't want to pay for repairs right now, you could try using some isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush to clean around the keys. Be really careful not to get any liquid inside! Also, make sure to keep drinks off the table in the future; it’s a lesson learned!
Definitely a bummer! I’d suggest taking it to Apple though; the longer you wait, the worse it might get with corrosion from the sugar. If you can, avoid using those keys for now.
