My DVD Player Isn’t Working—Help!

I'm having trouble with my DVD player. It won't open at all, and my computer doesn't detect it. I even tried using a small pin to open it and inserted a CD, but it didn't read the disk. I've attempted troubleshooting, but nothing seems to work. This gaming PC has been in my possession for a while now, and everything was functioning perfectly until the DVD player just stopped working. I've only opened it once for cleaning, and nothing appeared to be damaged then (though I did use the wrong cloth, but that's another story). I'm not really experienced with software or hardware issues and would appreciate any advice on how to fix this without causing further damage. I really don't want to just get rid of it, especially since owning physical media is becoming a rarity.

It sounds like your DVD player might be broken or not getting power. Have you tried opening your PC case and checking the cables connected to the drive? Make sure to disconnect and reconnect them while the PC is turned off. That could potentially fix the issue.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely give that a try.
