My Gaming Laptop Won’t Turn On – Any Fixes?

Hey everyone! I have an HP Omen 16 gaming laptop that's about three years old. A few days ago, I was watching some Twitch streams, then stepped away to make a cup of tea. When I got back, the laptop was completely off and now it won't turn on at all. There are no lights, no power at all, and the charging light isn't indicating anything either. I usually keep it plugged in because the battery life is terrible. I've already tried searching online for solutions but haven't found anything useful. Any ideas I can try before I take it to a repair shop? It's out of warranty, so I'd rather fix it myself if possible. Thanks!

Have you thought about how comfortable you are with taking it apart? If you can, sharing the exact model number (like your HP Omen 16) could help. Each model might have its quirks. Also, if you feel brave enough to open it up, there could be some things you can check for yourself!

The model is 16-b0001ni. I can open the back cover, and I can disconnect some things if needed, but my knowledge is pretty basic. I know the main components like the motherboard and SSD, but that's about it.

Honestly, at this point, it might be worth just heading to a repair shop. They can let you know if it's completely dead and possibly recover your data if need be. Just making sure you get some help before jumping in might save you a headache!

Yeah, but I’m just confused about how it just died without any warning. It feels like it switched off out of nowhere. What could cause that?
