My GPU Isn’t Being Detected – Any Tips?

Hey everyone! I just finished building my first PC, and everything seems to be working fine except for the GPU. I'm using a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, but it's not showing up on my system at all. I've checked all the cables, and the GPU is seated properly with the lever locked down. However, Windows doesn't detect it in the device manager. I'm wondering if it could be a faulty unit or if there's something else I should check. Any thoughts or tips would be really appreciated! Thanks! 🙂

First off, make sure your display is connected to the GPU and not the motherboard. Also, don't forget to install the NVIDIA drivers if you can get it recognized! Sometimes it just needs that little push.

I tried plugging the display into the GPU, but the monitor doesn’t turn on. Plugging it into the motherboard doesn't help either, so I can't even install the drivers.

Check which PCIe slot your GPU is installed in. It's usually best to use the topmost slot if you have multiple options. Just a thought, but sometimes that's all it takes!

I only have one PCIe slot on my MSI B650 WiFi motherboard, so that shouldn't be the issue.
