Hey everyone! I have an Ideapad Slim 3 15ABR8 running Windows 11, and I'm dealing with a frustrating issue. Since yesterday, my laptop has been shutting down unexpectedly without any consistent timing. Additionally, I've noticed that there's a quiet clicking noise from the fan every 5 seconds, which consists of about 10 short clicks. I'm planning to open it up soon to check for any obstructions and do some cleaning, but I'm currently unable to find my screwdriver. I'd really appreciate any insights on what could be causing this problem!

I’ve heard that a recent Windows 11 update caused a lot of issues for some users. You might want to try uninstalling that update to see if that fixes the problem. When your laptop shuts down, does it give any warning or just turn off completely? I once had a laptop shutting down because the fan was stuck due to a blockage, and it warned me that the fan wasn’t working. If it’s not showing any warnings, there’s a good chance it’s related to that update since you said this started recently.

Yeah, losing data can be a big concern! If the laptop has no warnings when it shuts down, definitely investigate that update first, as it might be the culprit. And if there’s anything stuck in the fan, cleaning it out could be a quickfix. Keep us in the loop!

Before messing around with BIOS settings or anything major, always back up your data. You never know what could go wrong! It might just be software-related; if you find anything in the laptop, that could also help. Just keep me posted on what you find!
